You may have heard about “The Little Boy With The Big Art” that has been causing a big sensation recently.
Six year old Jack Henderson wanted to say thank you to the sick kids hospital that treated his little brother, Noah who attends the hospital regularly. Jack decided to raise money for the hospital by setting up his won website where he would be willing to draw anything at peoples requests. Jack was hoping that he would raise £100 but little did he know that he would go on to raise over £10,000 in just two weeks through the generosity of the internet. This total is still increasing as Jack continues to draw.
Jack has recently released a book of his artwork called “Jack Draws Anything – The Book” containing Jacks first 290 pictures
The book also contains witty anecdotes from Jack even from the the start like “Don’t steal my pictures or else I’ll become a lawyer when I grow up”
The book starts off by Jack telling you the story of his first picture sale on a jumble stall at a craft fair which he sold to his mums friend, Annie. This is where he got the idea that he could sell more pictures.
With 6 chapters of a heart warming story you cannot help but love this book. The book depicts Jacks story and how he came to set up the website and Jack draws his pictures in time line of events as you read on. If that isn’t enough, the book also contains “Doodle Pages” where you or your children can draw your own pictures with helpful ques from Jack including “Draw your favourite Animal” and Draw your house. This is a great feature as it makes the book interactive and you become a part of it. There are many pictures of Jack, his family and his achievements so far throughout the book.
You cannot help but be touched by Jacks story and inspired at how he has helped so many others at such a young age. Even Celebrities have been amazed by his act of kindness including David Tenant and Fern Britton.
The book is great even my partner read it without putting it down and he isn’t a keen reader. Suitable for parents, children, keen drawers and just about everyone else.
The book is priced at £6.99 and available from these stockists, it is also available as an ebook.
Jacks work has not gone unnoticed, whilst being an internet sensation he has been nominated for various awards and even winning the “Bighearted Scotland Child of the Year Award!” at the Bighearted Scotland Awards in Glasgow this very evening.
Jack has now set his target to £20,000 and you to can help by donating money to the Sick Kids Foundation and also by making donations to Jack at Jack Draws Anything
