Isabelle has recently discovered the magic of Christmas and is starting to get rather excited about the whole prospect. She’s at a lovely age where the excitement is there and she is enjoying counting down the days until Santa visits and anything Christmas related causes the up most excitement.
This year we were lucky enough to attend Winter Wonderland Manchester before the crowds of festive goers descended. Winter Wonderland is the UK’s largest indoor Christmas theme park which is making an appearance from Wednesday 18th December until Sunday 5th January at Event City (right next door to the Trafford Centre) in Manchester.
It is home to over 30 rides in a festive wonderland including all the fairground favourites like the Tea Cups Fun Houses and Waltzers. Along with the rides there’s also entertainment in the form of shows, first off you have the Christmas Circus containing all your favourite acts and then you have ‘Izzy, wizzy, let’s get busy’ with The Sooty Show. Yes that’s right, the Children’s TV favourites from the longest running children’s TV show bring their magic and mischief for a fun packed and entertaining show. Isabelle was a big fan of Sooty (the Mr quite enjoyed it to) they sang along and joined in with the show.
Throughout Winter Wonderland you can find many arcade and fair sty;e games, these drew my little one straight in and we spent a while attempting to win stuffed toys. There are also many food stalls where you can grab a coffee, a bite to eat and lots of treats.
If all that wasn’t enough, there’s an extra special visitor attending the Wonderland, Santa Claus and his hardworking elves are taking time out from their busy festive schedule to meet and greet the children. They’ll be there right up until the 24th December. Isabelle was star struck when she was greeted by Santa and the Elf, they made a real effort to make it magical for her, the elf even took Isabelle on some of the rides, which you can imagine was a real hit!
Isabelle had a lovely afternoon and was absolutely worn out from all of the excitement, it’ll be a huge hit with little ones and make a magical family day out. It’s definitely well worth a visit
Winter Wonderland operates on Morning and Afternoon sessions lasting 4 hours each and the ticket price covers all the rides, Circus, Santa visit and the Sooty show.
