Being a Lego Duplo Blogger we were recently sent out the Lego Duplo Safari set to review and with Isabelle being fascinated by animals I knew that she would love this set.
As soon as Isabelle saw the brightly coloured box inside the parcel she was flapping and dancing to get into it. The Elephant on the front of the box had her excited and shouting “Lifi-flunt” which is of course her word for elephant. As she was busy tearing open the bags inside I was busy reading the helpful instructions on how to set it up, the instructions are there as a suggestion really as it’s down to your imagination on what can go where.
The Duplo Safari set has since become Isabelle’s favourite play set, she enjoys playing with the animals and making their noises. It has been rather educational and she has discovered some new animals that she wasn’t aware of, like the ostrich and crocodile. I’ve been rather impressed that these are now part of her vocabulary and she can point them out when asked. She has had hours of fun on her safari adventure, flying the plane over the animals below whilst filming them in the wild. Maybe we have a young David Attenborough on our hands?
The Duplo set is aimed at children aged 2-4 so the parts are the perfect size for their little hands to grip and use without it being to fiddly to put together. The set includes a variety of animals that you would not be surprised to see to see roaming the Serengeti, my favourites in particular are the mother and baby elephant. Also supplied is a two seater plane and a two seater 4×4 vehicle for the supplied figures to travel in. Along with this, the set features a fabric tent, tree’s and bushes to add to the experience.
I can honestly say that myself and the Mr have both had as much fun playing with the set as Isabelle has, we’ve spent evenings together setting it up. It has been a pleasure watching Isabelle learn about animals and discovering her imagination with this set.
Overall the set is very robust and the pieces are still as new even with the rough play from an inquisitive toddler. I can see the set being something that entertains Isabelle for years to come. I would certainly recommend the Duplo Safari set which can be purchased from the Lego website for £49.99.
