It’s the time of the year again when I can’t help but feel festive. We’ve started our Christmas preparations and traditions and it’s safe to say that we are getting exited, especially the little one who is now at an age where she can appreciate the magic of Christmas.
We’ve put our tree up early this year, generally we stick to the 12 days before rule but the excitement got the better of us. For the first time ever we have a real Christmas tree and our house now smells amazingly festive (particularly in the evenings when there’s a distinct aroma of mulled wine along with that woody pine smell)
It would appear that we have bought enough food to survive the apocalypse with cupboards full of Stollen, Panettone, Pandoro, chocolates and gingerbread (along with the obligatory tube of Twiglets). Now all that we have left to do is the present shopping, picking out our favourite photos of the year to gift family members a photo book of their loved ones and gift wrapping those gifts over the next couple of weeks. Until then I’m going to enjoy sitting in the warm glow of the Christmas tree lights with a hot festive tipple.
