If planning family holidays and travelling with children sends chills up your spine then this might just be the solution for you to make travelling that little bit easier.
Earlier in the year we took our first proper family holiday and with a 2 year old in tow it was a stressful experience just getting there. We had baggage allowances to deal with to start, this meant we were swapping and changing items in suitcases until we were happy they they were all under the restricted weight limit, we didn’t want to have to pay extra just for our bags that were almost bursting with everything that we needed to take with us.
Before we even booked the trip we had to make sure that somebody would be there to look after our pets at home, we didn’t want to put them in boarding at an extra cost.
We had to make sure that the flight was as short as possible because again having a 2 year old meant that it was difficult to keep her occupied and remain seated for the entire journey. We also had the hassle of having to hire a car and taxis to get around, then had to consider car seats etc on arrival.
All this could have been made a lot easier if we had considered travelling by ferry instead, the thought hadn’t even occurred to us. A Ferry! why didn’t we think of that?
Travelling by ferry would have made the whole thing a lot easier, with no luggage allowances, we would have been able to take our own car, we could have brought our dog along and we would also have been able to easily keep little legs entertained in the play areas and restaurants.
The next time we travel, the ferry is a serious contender for us!
