With the Summer holidays fast approaching I thought I would share some of the great family days out across the UK to keep everyone entertained.
Family Friendly Festivals
Geronimo Festival
Based in two locations Cheshire (25-28th May 2018) and Knebworth House (30th June – 1st July 2018)
The perfect magical adventure aimed at children under 12. You will find the stars of children’s television (with lots of CBeebies stars including Justin Fletcher) and a wide array of activities focused on quality family time.
Camp Bestival
One of my personal favourites, Camp Bestival in Dorset (26th – 29th July 2018)
A fun packed long weekend with something for all the family. Camp Bestival is jam-packed with entertainment and a host of thrilling activities.
The Just-So Festival
Cheshire (17-19th August 2018)
A rather whimsical adventure which makes for a magical weekend of family fun.
Museums
Museum of Science and Industry (Manchester)
A fab mixture of science & history which makes for a fun and educational day out for the whole family.
Eureka! The National Children’s Museum (West Yorkshire)
A fully interactive museum with over 400 interactive, hands-on exhibits. It’s a firm favourite with my little one
Zoo’s & Safari
Chester Zoo (Chester)
Chester Zoo is a registered conservation charity with over With over 15,000 endangered and exotic creatures over 125 acres. There’s a lot to see and a lot to do, it’s one of our favourite places to visit during the summer months.
Knowsley Safari Park (Prescot)
The longest safari park in the UK is well worth the visit.
Theme Parks & Attractions
LegoLand (Windsor)
If you or your little ones are Lego fans, then add LegoLand to your list of places to visit. The resort has over 55 rides and attractions to keep you entertained. Who wouldn’t want to visit a whole world made from bricks?
Alton Towers (Staffordshire)
Fun for all ages with legendary thrill rides, from the river rapids to Nemesis to the completely immersive Cbeebies Land . Alton Towers always makes me feel a little nostalgic for my youth
Thorpe Park (Surrey)
There’s something for children of all ages from roller coasters to water rides. It’s packed full of excitement and surprises
KidZania (London)
KidZania is an indoor park filled with over 60 role playing activities in a child sized city.
Local Activities
If you are looking for quieter activities and days out you can always check your local area for
- Bowling Centres
- Adventure Golf
- Trampoline Parks
- Climbing Centres
- Indoor Snow Slopes
- National Trust Parks
If you are planning a family day out be sure to check the attraction websites and social media, they often have deals and money off vouchers for the school holidays including reduced ticket costs. It’s always worth looking at annual passes if you are planning more than one trip, they can often include access to other attractions i.e the Merlin Annual Pass can be used at many attractions across the UK. Check deals and voucher sites for the latest deals and discounts when you are planning your next days out with the kids. Lastly, use your loyalty and rewards cards, we’ve had some great days out by using our Tesco Cubcard points.
