Getting to grips with my camera

Over the past couple of years I have enjoyed taking pictures of Isabelle and our family life, from day trips out to lazy days in front of the fire in our pyjamas, but I have never mastered the art of taking pictures. I’m generally just a point and click user, which for the most part suits me fine, I get a couple of pictures that I like out of the hundred or so taken. It’s when I try to capture those perfect moments and the result is a blur and terrible lighting that bothers me. If I had taken the time to get to grips with the camera maybe I would have captured that perfect moment? It really was or is laziness on my part for not taking the time to get to grips with my camera. So as a kind of belated new years resolution, I am now on a mission to improve my photography to capture those perfect moments in images that I would proudly display, this year my camera will no longer be my nemesis and hopefully I can share the tips that I learn along the way.
